Apart from Reading and maybe Hull, we haven’t looked lightyears away from a decent Championship side, albeit with the lowest budget in the division and having just been catapulted from the bottom division in the EFL to the top one.
The Leeds game highlighted the fact that these games are winnable, even though you look at the stats and they look like they hammered us, it wasn’t the full picture. Tactically we were astute with the resources available and we will no doubt grow into this division.
We had lots of key moments go against us on Saturday and if the Matty Pearson goal hadn’t have been scratched off for offside then we most likely would have got something from the game.

It’s small margins, small mistakes and just lacking a bit of confidence. If we can fix them in most of our games we’ll be just fine.
Great to see James Collins grab another goal after a small dip in goals for both club and country, also great to see Izzy Brown with the assist and adds to his tally this season, highest in the championship with 6 in 8 games.
Graeme Jones said:
“I was delighted for James, he’s got frustrated and struggled a little bit.
“But I keep repeating myself, Izzy’s quality’s outstanding, your top players play for one minute in the game, one moment, that changes it, that’s him, half a yard, puts it right on a sixpence for James Collins to finish.”
That being said, Charlton will be a tough game tomorrow and we have to go out on the front foot, making sure we aren’t exposed on the wings and take the game to them.
Plenty of points to play for this season and we need around 10 wins from the remaining 29 games and we’d be safe.
